Judo is a martial art known for its spectacular throws and takedowns. Other elements of Judo involve grappling, pins or hold downs, chokes, and armbars.
Judo was introduced to the Olympic Games in 1964, and is practiced by millions of people throughout the world today. People practice Judo for self defense, physical fitness, as well as sport and competition. Currently, Judo is the most widely practiced martial art in the world.
Is Judo right for you or your child?
Training in Judo is a great experience as it will get you in the best shape of your life while training under proven instructors. We accept students of all age ranges. All classes are taught in a competitive yet safe environment. We want you to be the best version of you possible.
- Judo does not involve kicking, punching, or striking techniques of any kind.
- Judo does not involve the application of pressure against the joints to throw an opponent.
- Judo involves no equipment or weapons of any sort.

There is always a risk of injury. With that said, we put your safety and growth above all else.
While competition is encouraged, it is not mandatory.
We will keep you aware of upcoming competitions and even facilitate your joining that event if you choose.
We don’t ask you to sign a contract, although we will ask that dues be paid on time.
The school does not provide you with free equipment such as a gi or gloves, but we can facilitate the purchase of what you will need to train.
Training equipment such as striking pads and practice gloves are provided for in class use.
You certainly can attend a class for free.
